What happens when you bring together one of the biggest telecommunication companies in the country, and the biggest names in delivery services? You get GCASH Click, the safe and easy way to shop online!

Globe’s CEO Ernest Cu is proud of this pioneering achievement that brings the service for the first time to Filipinos. “Globe is honored to be a partner of Delbros to deliver secure online shopping for anyone with his finger on a mouse or his hand on a cellphone. With GCASH’s structure, as well as Delbros’ reputation for safe and secure deliveries, you’re free to shop online without worrying about delivery!” GCASH Click doesn’t just make shopping convenient; we’re out to change the way it’s done.’

Jose Eduardo Delgado, CEO of Delbros, is just as excited: “We are pleased to be part of a partnership that ensures safety for Filipinos who love to shop online. Aside from the convenience of door-to-door delivery, you can be assured of affordable shipping rates and that your purchase will arrive safely at your doorstep. We don’t only deliver goods, we deliver peace-of-mind.”

GCASH Click is so convenient, anyone shopping on Multiply, eBay Philippines, auction.ph, sulit.com.ph, and other Philippine online shopping sites can start shopping by simply logging on to www.globe.com.ph/gcashclick.

GCASH CLICK: Secure online Shopping with just your mouse and your cellphone.

When you have the possibility of purchasing and paying at the tip of your fingers, safety and security are not far behind, especially now with GCASH Click!

A first in the history of online shopping in the country, GCASH Click is a risk-free way to shop for your favorite items online. In fact, when others may simply offer a payment option for online shopping payment, GCASH Click will handle payment, pick-up and delivery of your online purchases courtesy of Delbros, a renowned courier service.

Shopping security is ensured with the online shopper protection system called SafeShopper, GCASH Click takes care of both buyer and seller by establishing an awareness of the transaction in progress, have them agree to the terms and conditions, and deliver mutual satisfaction with the transaction. With the SafeShopper system in place, GCASH Click is able to give added security as it parks the buyer’s payment temporarily until the item purchased has been delivered and payment is credited to the seller when item is accepted.

GCASH CLICK has upped the ante on online shopping by promising a personal sense of security. The buyer is assured that he only pays for an item he is satisfied with when it’s delivered. Buyers get to open and inspect the package and confirm acceptability or return it if otherwise.

On the other end of the deal, convenience is assured for the seller because the product is picked up from him for delivery to the buyer and the guarantee that the deal is sealed once the buyer accepts the product. And because sellers deserve as much protection as the buyers themselves, they are also given additional protection for their merchandise as items are returned to them should payment be withheld.

With the system that GCASH CLICK has in place, you can buy that rare Victorian jewelry box at home, or order that iPod while you’re at the gym without worrying about security. Simply register your Globe or TM phone once to GCASH, and fund your GCASH Wallet for hassle-free shopping! You don’t just receive your item, you can inspect the merchandise before your payment reaches the seller.

And if the buyer or the seller has questions, there’s GCASH’s 24-hour customer service! Queries are fielded to ensure that buyers’ concerns are immediately addressed.

For those keeping tabs on their transactions, an online tracking facility through www.delbros.com is available to assist consumers with inquiries on pick-up and delivery.

So get ready for shopping without stopping. Whether you’re at your desk, on the couch, or even at the spa, retail therapy is now readily available even at rest with GCASH Click!

So register for free to GCASH Click at www.globe.com.ph/gcashclick or visit www.globe.com.ph/gcash for more information on GCASH and its products. You may also e-mail your inquries to gcashinquiries@globetel.com.ph.

10-YEAR OLD JOSE ANTONIO L. DELGADO (Anton), the youngest in the line of Delgado men and women who are passionately involved in the Scouting Movement, has finally taken the step that would officially initiate him to a lifelong of adventure, idealism, and service. In a solemn investiture ceremony held at the Coogenick Youth Camp in Taysan, Batangas on January 17, 2009, Anton was formally invested together with four other young Scouts to the Delbros ACD Scout Troop 24.

The Delbros ACD Scout Troop 24 traces its root all the way back to the late Ambassador Antonio C. Delgado. Troop 24 was the late Ambassador’s troop that went to the Godolo, Hungary World Jamboree in 1933.

The late ambassador is the first in the now three generations of Delgados who are deeply and passionately involved in the Scouting Movement. The late ambassador also happened to be the first Filipino to serve as Chairman of the World Scout Committee from 1971 to 1972

Today, Delbros ACD Scout Troop 24 is attached with the Manila Council of the BSP.

The January 17 investiture was officiated by veteran Scout Leaders Jermie Trasga and Hector Igarta. Scouters Trasga and Igarta were assisted by newly appointed Scout Leaders of Delbros ACD Troop 24, Bong Saculles, Sherwin De Jesus and Bryant Leano.

Jose Eduardo C. Delgado, Anton’s father and current institutional head of Delbros ACD Scout Troop 24, was present to witness Anton’s investiture.

The three other young Scouts invested on Jan 17,2009, are as follows:

Jhoana Cris Manalo (Parents: Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Manalo)

John Michael and Ma. Criselda Cortavista (Parents: Mr. and Mrs. Elizalde Cortavista)

Bernadette Leano (Parents: Mr. and Mrs. bryant leano)

Scouter Efren Edgard P. Dieta, Camp Manager of the Coogenick Youth Camp graced the investiture ceremony as the special guest speaker.

Anton Delgado’s investiture marks a major milestone in the history of the Scouting Movement in the Philippines. He is the latest addition in the still unbroken line of extremely committed and high-achieving family of Scouts.

Immediately following on the footsteps of the late ambassador was Jose Antonio C. Delgado who lost his life in a plane crash over the Indian ocean en route to the 11th World Jamboree in Marathon, Greece. Brothers Jose Roberto C. Delgado and Jose Eduardo C. Delgado (Ed), Anton’s father, carried on the Family’s Scouting torch. To this day Ed is deeply involved in many pioneering Scouting projects being a member of the BSP National Executive Board and chairman of the BSP ICT Committee. Jose Paolo C. Delgado (Paolo), eldest son of Ed, is himself an accomplished Scout. An Eagle Scout, Paolo, is also involved in several NGOs that espouse and promote Youth-oriented advocacies. With Anton in the Delbros ACD Scout Troop 24 is her older sister Camile L. Delgado, who is also very active Scout.

The Delbros Corporate Office has moved to its former home at 888 Delbros Avenue, PASCOR Drive, Brgy. Sto.
For its warehouses, Delbros has so far set up three facilities: Delbros North Hub located in the Caloocan and Malabon area; Delbros South Hub located in Batino, Calamba, Laguna; and an environment-controlled warehouse located at the Delbros Corporate Headquarters compound in Parañaque.

Below are aerial photographic maps (grabbed from Google Earth) of the three new Delbros facilities with directions and annotations on how to get there.

MT. SEMBRANO (745+ MASL) in Pililia, Rizal looks deceivingly easy to climb when viewed from down the highway going to the reclusive town of Jala-jala. Even before reaching the jump off point, some members of the Delbros AB Normal Club were already declaring it to be a relatively uneventful climb ahead. Ironically, these premature estimations came from the relatively newer members of the club. The veterans knew a lot better than to underestimate a mountain. Experience has taught them that there is no such thing as an “easy” mountain. Every mountain deserves respect. Its relative height has nothing to do with how difficult it is to climb. Each mountain offers its climbers a unique set of challenges.

The concern that everybody seemed to agree upon was how not to get burned by the scorching heat of the sun. It was already a few minutes past 10am when the group reached the jump off point at Brgy. Malaya on Feb 28, 2009. It was a very sunny, hot, and humid day when the members of the Delbros AB Normal Club went ahead to conquer their second mountain for 2009.

It was, in fact a relatively easy climb. Of course “relatively easy” is not the same as plain “easy.” After having climbed about a dozen or so mountains, the Delbros AB Normal Club is yet to find an easy one. Mt. Sembrano is not an exception. The continuously long ascent going to Peak 1 left most of the climbers gasping for air and almost completely spent. But Peak 1 wasn’t the objective because it isn’t the summit. Peak 2 is, and it looked very distant still from Peak 1. Some of the climbers were tempted to just stay in Peak 1, for to proceed to Peak 2 would mean a very long hike down Peak 1 only to climb up again to the summit which is Peak 2.

Nevertheless, at the end of the climb the climbers declared that it was a relatively easier climb compared, for instance, to Mt. Malipunyo (1,005+ MASL) of the Malarayat Mountain Range, or perhaps Mt. Pico De Loro (664+ MASL) in Cavite/Batangas, or Mt. Batulao (811+ MASL) in Batangas.

What sets Mt. Sembrano apart is its very windy summit and its magnificent 360-degree view. Mt. Tagapo (438+ MASL) in Talim Island, which the Delbros AB Normal Club intends to also climb soon, looked so inviting from not so far across Laguna de Bay. Mt. Makiling was clearly distinguishable south-south-west from Mt. Sembrano’s summit. Further south are the mysteriously enchanting twin giants — Mt. Cristobal (1,470+ MASL) and the majestic Mt. Banahaw (2,158+ MASL).

By the time the Delbros AB Normal Club started their descent of Mt. Sembrano, plans have already been laid to climb Mt. Cristobal before this year’s climbing season (Jan-May) ends. Mt. Banahaw is already in the calendar for 2010.
