DELBROS Chairman graces Tree Planting event

NELIE DELGADO, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DELBROS Incorporated, made a rare public appearance on January 10, 2009 to join her son and grandchildren in a tree planting event across the famous Walled City of Intramuros.
Now 89 years old, Ms. Delgado gamely helped grandchildren Clarissa, Camille and Anton in planting some of the 550 Fire Trees planted that day. More than 400 volunteers joined the event, led by the 300-plus Boy Scout contingent.
Jose Eduardo C. Delgado and Jose Paolo L. Delgado, son and grandson of Ms. Delgado, respectively, were both key proponents of the January 10 tree planting event. Father and son Delgado are both active Boy Scouts, the elder Delgado being a member of the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the person behind the Boy Scout’s “Go Green! Go for the Real Thing!” program. Paolo Delgado, on the other hand, is an Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can reach as a youth Scout. Ed Delgado is presently the President and CEO of Delbros Incorporated while Paolo Delgado is a member of the Delbros Board. Paolo Delgado is also a member of both the Rotary Club of Makati West and the Project Oikos, two NGOs that were also key proponents of the Intramuros Tree Planting.
Nelie Delgado is wife to the late Ambassador Antonio C. Delgado (1917-1992) and mother of Jose Antonio Delgado, one of the Filipino Scouts who perished in a plane crash en route to the 11th World Jamboree in Marathon, Greece in 1963. Ms. Delgado took the reins as Chairman of the Board of Delbros Incorporated when Ambassador Delgado passed away in 1992. Delbros was formed by the late ambassador in 1946 and incorporated in 1949. It is the pioneer in the local logistics industry, having introduced several firsts that are now industry standards.
